Google Chrome - Google’s browser

Google ChromeAs an avid internet guy, any major moves from internet juggernaut Google deserves a lot of attention. It could really change the way we perceive and use internet in the future, because browser is the most important piece of software that connects us to the Net. To me, this is just like the time when Netscape was dominant and Internet Explorer was trying very hard to gain serious attention from the mass users.
…………………
With the imminent launch of the Google’s own version of browser (beta version) called Google Chrome on 2nd September 2008 - I hope I can get a chance to test drive it as soon as it rolls out - do expect a full-blooded browser war in the next few months, like IE and Netscape were then, just that Google’s attempt to dominate browser market could be so much easier because it is already a trusted and global name, much more than what people knew of Microsoft then, and people associate it’s product as quality.

If history is any indication, Internet Explorer could be under severe threat. It has already got ready for this war by getting refining Internet Explorer to version 8 which is already in beta 2 version.

On another corner, there is also Firefox, which has gained a 18% share in the browser market since the last couple of years. I am Firefox at this moment and I like it a lot. I only use Internet Explorer when I surf to websites that are designed using Microsoft technologies such as ActiveX.

Downloading Nintendo Wii games

The popularity of the new Wii console has led a lot of us to wonder if we can download Wii games. A quick search online turns up lots of sites offering Wii game downloads and talking about the possibility of getting these games. However, it can be hard to tell which sites are reliable, safe from viruses, and provide quality games. A good Wii download site will offer both older games and new releases. The Wii’s support for classic Nintendo games means that you have the ability to download your old favorites, as well as the flashiest new games. If you want to download Wii games, look for a site that offers a good variety. Don’t give your information or money to any site you don’t trust, or that feels shady. Stick to well designed sites that won’t sell your information or fill your computer with malware.

Generally, you’ll find that there are two different kinds of sites on the web offering Wii game downloads. Some charge a price per file download. Others allow you access to an unlimited number of games for a flat fee. Which you choose will depend on how many games you need. If you want to download Wii games extensively, an unlimited site will be your best choice. If you are just looking for that one special game you can’t find anywhere else, however, paying by the download will be cheaper.

To download Wii games, some sites may require you to download special software. This software will either connect to the site’s main server, or to other users of the site, allowing you to download the Wii games you want. Remember, to play downloaded games on your computer, you’ll also have to be able to find an emulator that operates the way the Nintendo console would.

How to implement Internal Links

Implement Internal LinksFollow these five tips to achieve great internal linking structure of your website.
Have Footer text links to all your major internal pages.

Websites usually have a main menu at the top or left of the page. Many webmasters adopt dynamic dropdown menu or javascript to implement this menu bar not realising search spiders do not feed in these scripts. Hence website’s internal pages are harder to be found. This is a very simple fix, just use some simple html and css to code a text nagivational link right at the bottom of the websites. This allows users to click on internal clicks readily when they have scrolled to the bottom and also points what way to go for search spiders. Do it today!

Make full use of nofollow
Simply this code [rel="nofollow] on your [anchor text] tells Google spider not to count and follow this link, meaning you will save on your pagerank link juice. For example you do not wish Google to index your terms page, contact me page or archive page you can use this code when you design your internet anchor text links. In this way, link juice won’t be wasted on these less important pages.

Upgrading to wordpress version 2.6

Wordpress 2.6 UpgradeUsing the Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugin set me into a panic this morning. I was using this plugin to upgrade my wordpress to version 2.6 and everything went smooth as silk with no errors. Then it came to the stage where the installation wanted me to login, just after upgrading to latest database, to reactivate all the plugins. I found that the password I used to login was giving me errors. Panic stricken! Tried the “Lost Password” function to reconfirm my password yet realised it took ages to arrive, and it didn’t arrive. Decided to clear all cache and cookies. Worked like a charm and I was able to login, but alas, there was a few rows of warning messages at the top. It looked ugly! But it was version 2.6?!

I opened up the blog, and “OH NO”, the formatting was out of place!

What shall I do?

a little updates

Autumn LeaveAdmittedly, I have been neglecting No-Sp@m for the past 1 month and deep inside I feel guilty, as I am a guy who like to do things with heads and tails, meaning to do things in a nice, neat, systematic and responsible way. Passion for something does comes in high and low, and I am hitting the lowest level since i embarking on this own project of maintaining a blog. There is really a lot to write about. Just that when time comes to seat in front of the computer, my mind turns blank and although my heart is willing, my mind is unwilling. Maybe I have been watching too much shows via Funshion. Analysing, I think the main reason for neglecting No-Sp@m is I have been blogging too much during my office hours with those client blogs *I work as a SEO specialist and ghost blogger* On hand, there are more than twelve blogs to handle and my mind is tired when it comes to this. Secondly, I am also helping a good buddy to run an online business by looking after the customer service and support.

Looking back, there are really some big changes around online.

1. Google has launched its own “wiki” called Knol - which is branded by big G as an unit of knowledge. I read that spiders are voraciously devouring whatever that comes from the knol! So to those Google conscious guys, there is really a lot of things to knol about!

True or fabricated patriotism?

In August, everywhere you go in my country, you will see red. My country is in RED. Hope that’s not the case! Hanging the state flag has become an official routine to many, but I notice less and less households are doing that now, because I know many people are not happy here anymore. This is not a political blog, so I won’t be talking about that. Welcome to NDP 08.
