RSS (Really Simple Syndication) has become very ubiquitous thanks to the proliferation of blogs. I am sure as a blogger, you know the importance of RSS feeds in helping you to draw in extra traffic. There are also a few other advantages of syndicating your RSS feed. First, RSS feed submission allows you to increase your blog exposure in target niche because submission is categorised in different niches usually. Second, it promotes your RSS feeds to other blogs because if your feed is interesting, other bloggers may syndicate your feed on their blog thus further increasing your reach. Third, allows you to build up new subscriber base and larger following. Fourth, there is a potential of forming that much sought after backlinks to your blog through this stronger subscriber base.

In around 70 days, the World will witness an highly unique event that promises to bind different races, cultures and religions together! All will come together to do a charitable deed to raise funds for three international charitable organizations. With such a sacred intention in mind, this universal charity event, called The Nike+ Human Race 10K, definitely has attracted a lot of media attention and publicity in all participating cities - a total of twenty five cities from different continents…..What makes this event so unprecedented is that the whole world will run with you, meaning different cities will set off their own run in different timings, but the whole event worldwide will happen exactly on 31st August 2008 irregardless of the time zones.
So there you are, you can help out in the charities like WWF, ninemillion.org and Lance Armstrong Foundation and at the same time, having a good time running and working out your bodies en mass with the rest of your fellow countrymen and millions around the world, and of course, under the name of the world famous sports company, Nike, which I think through this mega publicity stunt, will enhance its already famous name to more far corners of the world.

Just upgraded to Firefox 3 with much anticipation but was disappointed that so many of my addons were not compatible to the new version at this moment. This is not something major as I know patches and updates will come by one by one and everything will be okay again. It goes on to show that I can’t surf the net without these addons and productivity would be greatly affected. Among the incompatible addons are AutoCopy, Submit’em Now, Dictionary Tooltip and a few others..In the end, I uninstalled Firefox 3 and tried to re-download Firefox 2.0.0.14 but after searching for it for sometime, I finally found a copy of the old version. Most of the major download sites had already updated the Firefox download link to those of Firefox 3. Sorry to hear my rumbling…
On a side issue, I am glad I have been rewarded from S.R. for a decent job. S.R. is indeed better than the previous site I was with and paid much faster too. From now on, I’ll stick to S.R.

Each day, my email inbox has always received at least ten spam emails about performance enhancement drugs, manhood enlargers, replica watches, perfumes, jewelry and etc … My spam filter can’t seem to be able to block them out, maybe I would need a stronger anti spam software. Therefore, everyday I’ll have to clear these spam emails otherwise they are going to swallow up my inbox.
Unsolicited spam is indeed a serious issue. Without any doubt, spamming is highly profitable. It has been written in the top anti spam blog AllSpammedUp.com that spammers like MyCanadianPharmacy are making hundreds of millions a year and some spammers even have their own R&D teams to develop even more potent spamming techniques.

Firefox is now my default browser at home and at office. I really like its functionalities and ease of customization. Firefox 2 is the best browser out there at my opinion and while it may lose out to Opera in terms of speed, its cool features and superb browsing performance more than make up for the slower speed. The good news is, the Mozilla development team has now released the next major upgrade of the browser, Firefox 3, which is now available for download. This upgrade of the open source browser has “more than 15,000 improvements”, and is “faster, safer and smarter than ever before”.
According to the report at ars technica, there are more than one million downloads of the new version in less than four hours. This could be due to the success of the promotional campaign of Download Day which has achieved more than one million download pledges for Firefox 3. I am sure this is on the way to be a Guinness record for the most number of downloads for a software.

There is a lot of buzz about this alerting service from Google called Google Alerts. Basically this is an useful and free service from the biggest search engine company in the world and what it does it is, you key into Google Alerts the terms or keywords you wish to monitor, together with an email address of yours. So seat back and wait for Google to automatically “alert” you when a specific topic, keyword or search term you wish to keep track appears somewhere in the news, on the web, or in discussion groups.
Right, you can see this is very good way to spy on the particular niche market you are interested in. For example, you are an authority figure in the field of video animation and you wish to know whether your name is mentioned in the cyberspace in those niche blogs or forums. Hence when those pages are found by Google, you will be alerted through emails, and you can check those new pages out to see if you name has been quoted.

These social bookmarking sites are really “do follow” enabled. I have personally verified them. These are NOT using “no follow” or a dynamic url to link back to you.
And they have reasonably good pagerank of at least a 4. So it is beneficial to place your bookmarks there.

Today I receive this email from Liberty Reserve - an online payment process to inform me I have received a sum of USD966 from account U4465925, but I need to confirm my details by clicking on a link in the email. Of course, being a seasoned internet person, I am careful of such ploy used by scammers to hack into your online money account.
This is the email I received. Be careful when you receive such kind of email. Do not click on any of the links inside it. Read the rest of this entry »
