I am very excited to learn that Wordpress.com is going to add in XML sitemap by default to all wordpress.com blogs. This is certainly one of the best news recently for SEO crazy people like me. Please read here for words from the horse’s mouth. XML sitemap for wordpress.com. I am not sure when will this take effect as it is not written, but I suppose it is already implemented? Because I have noticed some great leaps for a couple of my wordpress.com blogs. Yeah! Okay, let me reiterate, having a sitemap is a must nowadays because when the search spiders crawl your site and find the sitemap.xml (or whatever.xml) file, it will run through what you have entered in this file and pick up your message. Next the spider will obediently obey what you have instructed it to do and only crawl through the files that you want it to sniff. In this way, search spiders know what’s in your mind and will only crawl those stuff that you want it indexable. Some people say sitemap.xml won’t help my in rankings, but it certainly helps to make your site files more friendly to the search spiders hence it will come more often.

Duplicate content is a major issue when it comes to search engine optimization. Search engines like Google have the capability to detect duplicate content. How does it do that, nobody knows. I read it has a very sophisticated indexing engine with text matching or something like a duplicate filter. So every blogger or webmaster should bear in mind the consequences of duplicating contents from elsewhere. Writing a brand new content article takes times and creating a quality 500 word original article needs some planning like how to keywords are to be placed plus the content researching. That is why plagiarizing is often a way to solve the immediate problem.

All webmasters have a dream for own websites to be ranked number 1 on Google for their niche. It will have a take a lot of time and effort to achieve this dream because there are always thousands of other people competing with you. There is one thing to note though, it is easy to be ranked high for some obscure keyword phrases but what is the point if there are hardly any people searching for that phrase? That is why keyword research is considered to be the most strategic step before setting up a website.

You have a sacred corporate mission. To help the company’s poor IT admin guy to remove the deluge of spams coming in to the corporate email inboxes. If not, the admin will be sacked for not doing his job of keeping the inboxes clear of spams. Sounds very fun, isn’t it? I have a jolly good time “helping” the admin to clear the spams. It’s a daunting and challenging task, because the spams can come in different forms and subjects. So I got to be very careful so that important corporate emails won’t be cleared, if not, my admin friend is going to be sabotaged by me! But…well, this is just a very cool anti spam game.

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) has become very ubiquitous thanks to the proliferation of blogs. I am sure as a blogger, you know the importance of RSS feeds in helping you to draw in extra traffic. There are also a few other advantages of syndicating your RSS feed. First, RSS feed submission allows you to increase your blog exposure in target niche because submission is categorised in different niches usually. Second, it promotes your RSS feeds to other blogs because if your feed is interesting, other bloggers may syndicate your feed on their blog thus further increasing your reach. Third, allows you to build up new subscriber base and larger following. Fourth, there is a potential of forming that much sought after backlinks to your blog through this stronger subscriber base.

Just upgraded to Firefox 3 with much anticipation but was disappointed that so many of my addons were not compatible to the new version at this moment. This is not something major as I know patches and updates will come by one by one and everything will be okay again. It goes on to show that I can’t surf the net without these addons and productivity would be greatly affected. Among the incompatible addons are AutoCopy, Submit’em Now, Dictionary Tooltip and a few others..In the end, I uninstalled Firefox 3 and tried to re-download Firefox 2.0.0.14 but after searching for it for sometime, I finally found a copy of the old version. Most of the major download sites had already updated the Firefox download link to those of Firefox 3. Sorry to hear my rumbling…

Each day, my email inbox has always received at least ten spam emails about performance enhancement drugs, manhood enlargers, replica watches, perfumes, jewelry and etc … My spam filter can’t seem to be able to block them out, maybe I would need a stronger anti spam software. Therefore, everyday I’ll have to clear these spam emails otherwise they are going to swallow up my inbox.
