Macs are getting more and more popular over last couple of years and some of my friends who are diehard Windows supporters have even made the switch to Mac. In terms of performance and security, Apple computers still beat Windows machines, and it is the growing influence of cult following that is setting the trend. I think Mac machines are cool, very cool in fact. The display is crisp and sharp and the animations are smooth.
If you are currently using Windows and want to experience what the fuss is all about, there is now a very easy way for you to tune your Windows into a Mac. Just download FlyaKiteOSX, unzip and run its installation file. About ten minutes later, reboot your computer and your Windows machine will be transformed to a Mac with OSX running. If you are thinking this is just a superficial change of Windows theme, that is not true because FlyaKiteOSX does more than just transforming the “skins” of the Windows operating system, it goes further in to the extent that unaware people can be fooled by it.
This is how my Windows XP looks like after the transformation and some self desktop tidying.

There are tons of blogs out there, so how can you ensure that your blog gets some preferential traffic in this wide open world? Well, submitting your blog’s RSS feed to specialized news directories may help your blog to improve its popularity, traffic and exposure. Here’s why:
RSS directory submission increases your readership. When a person is looking for newsfeeds to add to their RSS reader, it is highly likely they will visit an RSS directory to find newsfeeds on their subject of interest. I recently visited a directory looking for personal business blogs. I subscribed to several, and now read them via RSS on a regular basis. Someone else may have an excellent business blog, but since they weren’t listed in the directory, I was unable to discover their site.
RSS directory submission enables your content to be duplicated and linked to from other sites. One of the key benefits of syndicating content through RSS is that it increases your reach. You can publish an article, then have excerpts of that article placed on hundreds of other websites – with links back to the original on your site. Many webmasters want to have fresh content for their visitors, and embedding an RSS newsfeed is the easiest way to do that. You’ll want to make sure that you are listed in RSS directories when a webmaster visits looking for website content – or your competitors may get the free promotion!

A little 6 minute Youtube video on tips for traffic generation, RSS and social bookmarking of blogs. The information presented is valuable and the techniques are useful as I’ve tried it out on one of my project blogs. That blog is hovering at top 3 of my keyword for more than 8 months (of course, need active linking campaign too).
Topics presented are:
1. Link directions
2. RSS feeds
3. Submit’em Now
4. Blog and ping.
5. OnlyWire social bookmarking

Do not mean to discredit them. Just that I feel their website is really slow loading to the extreme! slow. It took me more than 5 to 7 minutes to load it. This is the PERFECT example of placing aesthetics way in front of practicality. You can try it yourself here.. Maybe your internet connection is faster. I have no idea why most advertising, public relations, and even web design companies always like to use huge amount of Flash in their websites. Don’t they know they are wasting so much bandwidth and possible revenues when they stack up such a high bandwidth website on their web hosting? Don’t they know the importance of attracting organic traffic from the search engines that they allow a non-Flash version of the website at least?

It’s undeniable fact now that choosing keywords for your internet project can be regarded as the most important step in your pursue to achieve a well-received website. So once you have your keyword, what are you doing to do with them? I guess you must be thinking I’m nuts for asking this question. Well, of course, we need to write relevant unique content with the keywords that we have just identified.
That will mean keyword density will come into the question. Keyword density refers to the percentage or the number of times in which your keyword has appeared in your fixed length post. Its very easy to derive. Just count the total number of words and count the number of times keyword is repeated and you can work out the keyword density. What I recommend is about 3% to 5%. That should be fine.
Well, what i read is that Google is no longer focusing its search algorithm on keyword density right now and we are advised not to focus much on the keyword. Just focus to write a decent article that human beings can read logically. I’m not sure that is true. It could be possible. Google’s search engine is already smarter than before and maybe it does not look at keyword density now? No matter how, I’ll still ask people to play safe just to be sure. Just splatter a couple of keywords in your article would be nice, at least.

The biggest news in the internet world right now has be Microsoft’s $44.6 billions bid for rival Yahoo!. Well, to me the news is not really a surprise because the idea was already reported in the media about a year ago, and it has surfaced again probably because Yahoo! is apparently facing some difficulties as there are reports saying Yahoo! is going to retrenchment mode. Personally I do hope the bid will be successful as it would make the search world sit up and realize that there is life outside Google!
On the contrary, I do think that the combined Microsoft/Yahoo entity is still not strong enough to take on Google head on. Maybe it would just create a small repairable dent on Google’s bumper and that’s no big deal. The big G is firmly in control as can be seen by comScore, courtesy of dot.life.
According to comScore, the worldwide search figures for last August show Google way out in front:

2008 is an Election Year. The whole nation, and even the world, is buzzing with the drama that is unfolding from Republican or Democrat camp. The election is proving to be a hot topic among most of my working class mates during our lunch times. Some of them are even able to analyze the situation much better than the media!
That is why it is exiting to see the launch of ElectionQlips at this time. ElectionQlips will allow armchair political analysts a great platform to voice their views in multimedia format about the Election. It brings the latest election news right to a single place and allow you to share with the community, in the form of your recorded voice, drawing, images and even videos!
ElectionQlips is the power of the blogging at its best! This website allows you to listen to some sharp alternative comments different from what you heard in the mainstream media and it makes you think of the issues much more critically. With your own comments, you can share the link to anywhere in other community sites and that’s why it is going to have an impact from the cyberspace for this Election in my view.

I have been targetting some long-tail keywords in some of my project blogs in office but when I check the stats, there is not a lot of unique hits. According to a keyword research tool for this particular long-tail keyword, there is a daily searches of 189 but when I check my statcounter.com, it shows no one has come to my blog via that long-tail? Why is that so? Can some internet experts explain?
