Is Google Ready to Counter Yahoo’s Search Assist?

On the evening of October 30th 2007, I was doing my typical SEO rank checks, when something caught my attention at Google.com. As I was typing some text into the search box, out came a gray box with search suggestions that got ever more precise as I typed in my text.

The dropdown box on Google certainly appeared to be very similar to Yahoo’s Search Assist. The exception is that the box also contained the number of search results for each given term, much like what is found on Google Labs. This was a two column format, with the suggested search term on the left and the search result number on the right. I saw no option to disable the search suggestions as Yahoo provides.

Thinking that this was the launch of yet another search engine feature, I quickly logged on to my Digital Point forum account and began a thread about this new feature. The responses took me off guard. Nobody else could see it. Knowing that my vision is good, I returned to Google to try it again. This time I would post a screenshot. Well, I never was able to take the screenshot as the search suggestions were off. What I had seen was a rare occurrence and quite possibly the testing of a new search feature on Google.

MYA and ethical liposuction

All women love to look good and pretty and as guys, we all love pretty babes, aren’t we?

That’s why many ladies nowadays are contemplating going under the knife just to improve their less than desired features, to make themselves feel better, more confident and potentially more rewards in the areas of work and relationships. It’s a big investment I feel.

For some, keeping a slim figure is a tough task, makes worse by the lure of delicious food everywhere.

So to have the ideal body, some of us, whether men or women, we may need to go for Liposuction surgery from Make Yourself Amazing (MYA) clinic based in UK. Liposuction is a surgical process that will remove the extra fat under the skin. You will be under anesthetic and the plastic surgeon cut off the excess fat that makes one look fat and overweight.

Dreamweaver or Frontpage?

When it comes to building your own website, the goal is to make it functional as well as professional looking. However, it is also important that the website building software you choose be user-friendly. The product Macromedia Dreamweaver is a popular choice for website designers, but there are factors to consider before determining if Dreamweaver is the right product for your purposes. With more sophisticated features and tools, Dreamweaver is typically considered the best option for the site builder who has some experience under his belt. It provides the ultimate control when it comes to HTML code, so someone who has already created a site with advanced programming language such as Flash will benefit from using the Dreamweaver product.

Some Dreamweaver basics include the ability to switch back and forth between different sites on which you are updating or creating. If your plans including building more than one site at a time–for example, someone who is a web designer by trade–this feature makes working on multiple projects much easier.

Also, this product simplifies the coding process with its Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) tool. With a click of a mouse, you can add these styles to your site. CSS is great for a website because it provides more flexibility when making changes that apply to the entire site, makes it accessible to all users, and decreases code overload streamlining the size of your web files.

Online loan comparison

Nowadays it is very easy to get loans from the banks. Based on my own experience in my country, you don’t even have to go for it, because the banks will try to tele-sell to you over the phone. You just need to agree verbally and banks will send a courier to you to have your signature. Paperworks are done at later stage, and if you have a reasonably good credit record, you will be approved and soon you can have that extra purchase power on hand.

These type of loans generally have low or zero interest for the first six months and the interest goes back to the normal rate of 17% to 18% after that, so I always make sure I have the way to enjoy the low rates so as not to get sucked into the interest whirlpool.

Let me talk more about secured loans. A common example is those at UK where homeowners have seen a rocketing value of their properties. Thus, it is a good time to get a loan secured against their properties to enjoy the extra financial leverage. Do be careful though, always do the sums correctly and if loan agreements are reneged, your property will be gone!

Selecting An Online Business That’s Right For You

As you know, there are a multitude of online business opportunities available to you now. There is eBay, MLM, network marketing, affiliate programs, Forex and hundreds more. How do you go about deciding which online business is right for you?

First, research the business that you are considering. How long has it been around? How many other people are doing it? Is it a reputable business and are people actually making money with it?

I recently received an e-mail from someone who obtained my contact information from a discussion forum. It was an invitation to join their “program.” I asked if they were making any money, and if so to send me proof (in the form of a screenshot of their PayPal account or something similar). Their response was that they hadn’t actually made any money themselves, but they knew that eventually they could make money with it.

Internet Marketing - Is There Life Beyond AdSense?

Google is very strict with AdSense and adheres closely to the terms of service, because the sister program, AdWords, is its highest revenue source. If Google even suspects you’re doing something against their rules, your account can be shutdown forever. If that’s already happened to you, let me give you some alternatives for monetizing your Internet marketing website.

1) Get an account with another contextual advertiser.

AdSense isn’t the only company producing contextual ads, though it’s certainly the biggest. Yet, companies like Bidvertiser and OpenTracker offer the same type deal. You publish ads related to your site, and they give you money each time someone clicks on an ad.

Business card reader that scans into Outlook

I have stacks of business cards in my cabinet, so I guess in this age of electronics, keeping stacks of business cards or organising them in a card holder are no longer a productive affair. Too many times I had trouble finding that guy I had in mind.

The best solution to that is to digitize the business card filings through OCR - Optical Character Recognition - found at business card readers.

OCR is a technology used by the scanners and nowadays the level of accuracy of OCR has increased so much that there is little need to amend the scanned texts. One example of the OCR technology used is the Scan2Contacts business card reader, which is a handy and portable business card reader that weighs just 210g. Because of that, it requires no external power source and you only need to plug it to an USB port to run it.

Google PR updates

The highly anticipated Google PR update happened sometime around 27th October. From the feedback I have read at the SEO forums, some are joyous while some are not so, especially for those who are heavily into link buying/selling.

Many sites and blogs which are into that are penalised with a drop in PR, some of them are big authority sites. I think Google has developed a algorithm that can tackle this issue which is deemed by them as illegal. However, I’m not sure if this drop in PR affects their rankings at SERP or not.

A personal advice is to ignore the PR number totally and concentrate on doing what is the best, adding great relevant content to your sites and doing right honest linkings. In this way, you’ll have no worries about the changes in the pagerank. If you site has low pagerank, you still can rank high by Google, even if your site has PR0.
