Transform wii console to a multimedia streaming center with Orb
I have a wii console at home and we absolutely love it as it provides us with some good times playing wii games downloaded from internet. Wii gaming sessions also provide mild workouts! *can make you sweat a lot* sometimes. As wii is also a wi-fi receiver, I know it has a lot of expansion capabilities beyond just being a gaming machine. Yes I’m right. Today I just read that wii can be used as a multimedia streaming center that can run your computer’s videos, music, photos and flash games. What you need to do to transform your wii to a multimedia streaming center is to install Orb in your home computer and purchase Opera browser via wii interface for 500 wii points.
Once you’ve downloaded and installed Orb to your home PC, login to mycast.orb.com, using any internet-connected device with a streaming media player (mobile phone, PDA, laptop) and start MyCasting all your digital media anywhere anytime. Orb is also compatible with all major gaming consoles — the Wii, PS3 and Xbox — so you can now enjoy your media on your TV screen as well!
System Requirements:
For the best MyCasting experience, the PC where Orb is installed needs:* Windows Vista, Windows XP (Home or Professional) with Service Pack 2, or Windows XP Media Center Edition (2004 or 2005).
* AMD Athlon 3200+ processor or 2.4Ghz Intel Pentium* IV processor or equivalent (a slower processor may cause “stuttering” when streaming TV or videos)
* 512MB of RAM
* Broadband connection
* 100MB available disk space
I’m certainly excited about it now. And I’ll try it out as soon as I can. Hope to you a good write-up here thereafter.
