a little updates

Autumn LeaveAdmittedly, I have been neglecting No-Sp@m for the past 1 month and deep inside I feel guilty, as I am a guy who like to do things with heads and tails, meaning to do things in a nice, neat, systematic and responsible way. Passion for something does comes in high and low, and I am hitting the lowest level since i embarking on this own project of maintaining a blog. There is really a lot to write about. Just that when time comes to seat in front of the computer, my mind turns blank and although my heart is willing, my mind is unwilling. Maybe I have been watching too much shows via Funshion. Analysing, I think the main reason for neglecting No-Sp@m is I have been blogging too much during my office hours with those client blogs *I work as a SEO specialist and ghost blogger* On hand, there are more than twelve blogs to handle and my mind is tired when it comes to this. Secondly, I am also helping a good buddy to run an online business by looking after the customer service and support.

Looking back, there are really some big changes around online.

1. Google has launched its own “wiki” called Knol - which is branded by big G as an unit of knowledge. I read that spiders are voraciously devouring whatever that comes from the knol! So to those Google conscious guys, there is really a lot of things to knol about!

2. No more del.icio.us. What’s going on? It’s owner Yahoo has decided to rebrand it as delicious.com. I bet Yahoo must have paid some money for delicious.com. I tried to use the Way Back Machine to see how delicious.com was like in the past, but it was blocked by its robots.txt unfortunately.

3. It’s Cuil! This is a new search engine and the “largest” with indexed pages “three times as many as Google and ten times as many as Microsoft.” A big difference is Cuil relies more on on page content analysis rather than link popularity to rank pages and its SERP is presented in a different format than what you have now get used to with the current batch of well-known search engines. By the way, Cuil has links with Google - its brains behind are ex Google staff! Read PC Magazine’s full authoritative review of the new search engine.

4. Wordpress version 2.6 has been released. I am late on this one, and I am still on ver 2.5. Latest version promises to make blogging even more interactive and simpler with wiki-like edit trackings, Press This! and Gears features just to name a few.

5. Google Pagerank latest updates - unfortunately, I am still stuck in zero. Should be at least a two for this blog. Just do not understand.

Cheers! Keep it up.
